The Air Systems division serves two main markets: air defence and missile systems for military customers, and civl air traffic management systems.

Thales designs and delivers comprehensive airspace security solutions tailored to the needs of civil and military users.

In civil markets, the Thales offering includes air traffic management systems, landing systems and navigational aids, radars and airport surveillance systems.

To meet air defence requirements, Thales offers a full range of surface radars, detection, identification and air command and control systems, battlefield and sensitive site protection systems and weapon systems ranging from very short range to extended air defence.

In missile electronics, Thales designs and manufactures seekers and proximity fuzes incorporating the very latest technologies. Thales guidance systems are used in most French-made missiles including the VT1, Mica, Aster, Scolped, Apache and Exocet.

Lastly, Thales provides a full range of services to support all its products and systems, including upgrades, capability sustainment, maintenance, training and technical assistance, logistics engineering to ensure that maintenance solutions are designed into the system during the development phase, and prime contracting services.
